🗽 #theamericandream in IT

For several years, the IT industry has been developing very dynamically, and Poland is widely known as a popular direction of outsourcing of technological talents.
So what makes Poland such a desirable destination for nearshore and offshore companies?
In short, offshoring is a type of outsourcing involving the transfer of part or all of business projects to a country located in a different location. This is primarily due to the reduction of costs and acceleration of work. The choice of the right place is determined by such factors as: low wage rates, human capital resources or tax regulations. When it comes to the United States, their first choice is Asian countries (India, China) and then European countries, such as Poland or Ukraine.
Just in early 2022, Ryan Strategic Advisory conducted the Front Office CX Omnibus Survey, interviewing about 700 managers making key Customer Experience decisions in companies located in the U.S., Germany, France, the U.K., Italy, Spain, Australia, and Canada. The main purpose of this study was to identify the most popular offshoring locations. The result was not surprising. Poland was ranked second in the list of the most desirable locations for BPO centers, sharing its position with the Philippines. The first place went to India.
Why do US companies bet on Polish programmers?
The United States is a world power of the IT market.
Nevertheless, they are getting worse and worse at dealing with a huge shortage of programmers and they are trying to cover these huge shortages by hiring specialists from foreign countries, including Polish. Why our country? This consists of several factors: First of
all, Polish programmers are extremely capable. According to the HackerRank ranking, they are in third place among the best in their field. In addition, in the same ranking, they took the first place from performing tests in Java. So there is something to boast about!
Secondly, about 90 percent of them have a university degree, and every year about 18,000 people become graduates of ICT-related studies. An important factor is also the English language, which Polish programmers use freely. A significant factor is also the slight cultural difference – Polish way of thinking is much closer to Western countries than asian ones.
Thirdly… when you don’t know what’s going on, it’s probably about money… and in this case, this saying makes a lot of sense… Well, another important reason (according to data from Glassdoor, PayScale and SalaryExpert) that the United States so often looks towards our programmers is their salary, which is about $30,000 (national average) per year. For comparison, the earnings of American programmers are about $ 92,000 per year. The difference is therefore huge and the pandemic has proven to all of us that remote work is not an obstacle. Thus, the giants from America still tempt our programmers with great offers that are hard to refuse.
