How to position websites without much financial outlay?
Norbert Wieczorek 05.08.2022
It is certainly hard to imagine how it would be possible to run any business without positioning websites. Positioning is a process that involves directing a website to a place in the results of an Internet search engine. This behavior is to ensure that it is more interested in users. Proper positioning is a way to reach your customer and increase the effectiveness of selling your offer.
But what makes even very popular sites have trouble staying at the top? It seems that the biggest obstacles for the positioner are: a lack of valuable content and few measurable factors (e.g. the number of visits). These factors could prove the effectiveness of their actions. It is worth considering the minimum budget for the promotion of an advertising site (about PLN 100 – 200 per month).
Keywords
After entering a given phrase in the search engine, the auction begins. Google’s system searches for all advertiser ads where keywords match the phrase that the user has entered into the search engine. In the next step, the system rejects all inappropriate ads, e.g. targeted to another city or rejected for policy violations. Other ads begin to participate in the auction. It will allow you to specify which of them and in what order will be displayed in the results of this search.
In a typical auction, the winner is the one who offers the highest bid for the product being auctioned. However, in Google’s advertising system, the one who offered the highest bid per click will not necessarily win. Why is that? Because in Google, in addition to the cost per click proposed by advertisers, the system also takes into account the quality of advertising. In short – that is, whether and to what extent our advertising is good. Good, i.e. tailored to the user’s query and responding to his needs. Then, taking into account these two elements, the algorithm creates an Ad Rank and in the next step displays the ads in the correct order.
Keyword analysis
The keyword analysis is a process of choosing phrases related to the subject of the website and selecting appropriately strong, attractive keywords for them. Therefore, analysis is necessary to match the words to the content and theme, and website. For this purpose, you can use a specialized tool, e.g. Google AdWords Keyword Planner.
Keywords (or phrases) are divided into several types:
- General phrases – usually consist of one or two words, and users who enter them do not have specific preferences as to their current need
- Long tail phrases – are more detailed phrases, containing more than two words
- Brand phrases – these are keywords containing the name of the company or brand
- Local phrases – these are phrases used in local positioning, they usually contain the name of a town or region
Optimization of content for SEO
SEO is a long-term solution, and content optimization is one of the most important parts of an SEO strategy.
The keyword analysis is the first step to understanding what search terms people use to find your content. If you know what keywords people use to find your website, you’ll be able to optimize it for those terms.
The second step is to create content that includes these keywords as often as possible. You want your content to be about what people are looking for – not just stuffed with keywords that don’t make sense in context.
The third step is to make sure Google understands how important this content is by getting links from other sites and social media posts with the same keyword or phrase. This increases the likelihood that someone will see your post when they search for those words or phrases – and hopefully enter through them!
The title of the subpage/article is the most visible element on the page and is written in the thickest font. It is also most often the H1 header. It plays a very important role because it encourages or discourages the user from further reading the content that is on a given subpage. On the offer page, the title should be concise, and simple, so that it does not distract the user’s attention from the further part of the page, i.e. from the list of products or the description of the offer. However, on the page with the article, the title may be longer and should contain the most important key phrase.
TL:DR
SEO is quite expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. It is worth starting with the start of these activities to have the best chance of success in business. Even if the first time the effects will not be satisfactory, you can always try to do it in a different way until you finally get to such a skill that creating keywords or creating appropriate titles and links will come out intuitively.
